Every year, we ask our alumni, faculty, parents, and friends to consider making a financial gift to the SMGHS Annual Fund. The Annual Fund is a pool of unrestricted dollars that are used to support Goretti’s important mission. Operating expenses, academic programs, general maintenance of facilities, and technology enhancements are supported by Annual Fund dollars. Faculty salaries and professional development are supported by Annual Fund dollars. The most important use of Annual Fund dollars, however, is in providing financial assistance to deserving students. The Annual Fund helps us make up the difference between the actual cost of educating our students and what they pay in tuition.

Each and every gift to the Annual Fund has an impact. Participation in the Annual Fund often provides leverage when we apply for grant monies or foundation support. When philanthropic organizations see that our alumni endorse our efforts in significant numbers, these organizations are more willing to support our initiatives.

Our Annual Fund runs from July 1 to June 30 each year. Because foundations and other funding sources rarely provide for operating expenses, most of this income must come from individual contributions. Your support is so important in helping to provide solid financial footing, allowing us to strategically consider new programs and strengthen existing ones.

The value of a Goretti education can be measured in many ways – by the success of our graduates, by the ways our community is uplifted by our students’ service, by the number of alumni who stay in touch with each other after forming lasting bonds, and by the number of people who choose to support us.
