| When materials are ordered for the collection and books are selected for the summer reading list, faculty are asked what they would like to have included. Curriculum guides across the range of courses offered at St. Maria Goretti High School are reviewed for needs. The following review sources for high school libraries are looked at: Senior High School Library Catalog, Booklist which includes Reference Books Bulletin, LMC Connection, VOYA (Voice of Youth Advocates), The ALAN Review, several lists of outstanding books (Printz Award and Honor books, Best Books for Young Adults, Alex Award books, Outstanding Books for the College Bound, etc.) from YALSA (Young Adult Library Services Association), and Classroom Connect. Publishers' catalogs are sometimes consulted for purchase.
