| The Gael Gazette is St. Maria Goretti High School's monthly student newspaper. Each issue features the latest in school news, sports, student writings, photos, and more! All students may join the staff at any time and parents, faculty and friends are also encouraged to offer submissions. If you are interested in submitting an item to the Gael Gazette, please contact the newspaper monitor.
Many editorship positions are available, including Editor-in-Chief, Layout Editor, News Editor, Feature Editor, Sports Editor, Opinion Editor, and Business Manager. Editor-in-Chief candidates will be considered and notified by the advisor and the principal before the start of the school year. Editors are determined within a month of the start of the school year. Editors are required to attend all meetings and make at least on submission per issue. Staff writers are those students who do not hold editorships but who have attended all meetings and have made submissions to at least four issues that school year. Contributors are those who have made less than four submissions to the paper per school year. At year's end, contributors receive certificates, staff writers receive certificates and pins, and editors receive certificates and medals. |
